BenefitsAll Pilot employees are entitled to a range of benefits in addition to their salaries.

Time off

Reflecting our culture of personal accountability and flexibility, there is no stated vacation policy. In effect, employees are eligible for unlimited vacation days subject to their own assessed ability to get their work done to a high level of quality, and upon manager approval.

Fridays off

In addition to personal leave, both the SEA and LON studios close on alternate Fridays. Closure dates will appear on calendars via the Pilot Admin account.

Birthdays off

Everyone who works at Pilot, whether FTE or contractor, is entitled to the day off on their birthday. If your birthday falls on a day when our studios are closed, such as a weekend, public holiday, Friday off, or during the annual two-week break, you can choose another day to take in lieu. Make sure to add your OOO to your email and calendar, cc’ing Pilot Admin.

Health insurance

U.S. employees are entitled to a “high deductible” health care plan that allows them to open a health savings account (HSA). If you opt for the Company’s health care plan, we will cover the cost of coverage for you. You have the option to contribute to your HSA deducting directly from your paycheck up to the IRS-allowed limit (currently $3,500 for an individual). The funds in your HSA may be used to pay any qualifying medical, dental, and vision expenses as specified by the IRS. Coverage may change as the Company considers new options – generally, this will happen at the end of each year.

Retirement / Pension

After one year of continuous service, U.S. employees become eligible to participate in the company’s 401(k) program with Principal Financial. The current Pilot 401(k) benefit includes a 3% safe harbor contribution which, should you wish to participate, will be made automatically regardless of your personal contributions.

In line with UK law, all UK employees are automatically enrolled in a workplace pension scheme, which is administered by The People’s Pension. Pilot makes contributions to the scheme on your behalf. If you wish, you can opt-out of the scheme and make your own pension arrangements. Full details of the scheme are in your contract of employment or via The People’s Pension.

Parental leave

Parental leave at Pilot includes: maternity leave, paternity leave, and adoption leave.

Snacks

Pilot supplies a limited selection of free drinks and snacks in our studios.

Dogs

Being able to bring your dog to work is a nice perk of Pilot. Having some simple rules and a schedule in place makes sure we don’t become a “doggie daycare” center. You should also have a backup plan if dogs are not able to come to work for any reason, such as client allergies, meetings, etc. Be prepared to leave your furry friends elsewhere as needed.
